Worship that can't be scilenced

There is something so special that goes on in the bowels of our soul when we sing to the Lord! I don't know about you, but I have had some very precious moments praising my Jesus and lifting Him up and exaulting Him. Have you ever been singing to the Lord and His spirit just comes over you like a flood of living water? I mean doesn't it just breath life into you? I think it's times like this that gives us just a very small glimpse into heaven as the angles are praising God. I say this because when we worship Him and exault His name and His character with songs of praise, we enter into this spirit that can't be scilenced. I mean where there are no words to describe what you are experiencing as His spirit floods over and in you and through you.

Think about it. Really, have you ever been there? It truly is a glorious thing. As you experience this, you start to feel an eruption in your spirit. But, you can't quite express it with words, so you start raising your hands but that still doesn't express it so your body starts to move and jump around and starts to sway as your praises gets louder and louder where you feel like your going to explode with so much emotion.

It's worship that is too powerful to fully express, yet too powerful to be contained. And I think its becuase we get an extremely small glimps into the heavenly relm where our humanism and our words and actions just aren't enough to fully express what we are experiencing which again is a small taste of what goes on in heaven every single moment! How wonderful!!! I may be going on and on about this but thats because as I write this, I'm having a hard time just explaining it!

I think we can't quite express what we are expierencing because what we are experiencing is something so powerful and not of this world, but as we are in our earthly bodies we are taken into a glimps of Heaven and our bodies aren't designed to handle that much glory. That's why He lets us experience just a small taste of Him. It reminds me of the opostle Paul when He sees a bit of Heaven but to try to describe it would be a sin because our words can't give it the description of glory it deserves.

Last night I got to experience such a time praising my Lord Jesus with my family at Spirit of God Fellowship in South Holland, Il. We were singing a praise song called "Be lifted high". To be honest there have been times and even still where I start think how rediculous! He is God! How can I lift Him up as if I have that power, I mean who am I that I can lift and exault The Most High God?

The truth is that song is saying we can choose to exault The Most High God in our own hearts. It is possible and even likely we don't see Him as a really big God. That's because we see ourselves big. But, as we exault Him in our own hearts, He becomes big in our own minds eye and when that happens we become small, but that is the reality. We put Him in His rightful place and that puts us in our rightful place. Humbling isnt it but thats reality and thank God it is! I DON'T WANT A SMALL GOD!!! We are small and He is big!

I think even in our Christain worship songs can tend to be more about us and what He has done for us. Dont get me wrong. Its great to actknowledge what He has done in your life and even sing about it but even in that there is something in that focuses on us. If you want to get a bigger glimpse of The Almighty, I challenge you to start praising Him and His character and make it not about you at all but all about Him and see where His spirit will take you!
